John and Laura’s wedding was all kinds of special, not only because Laura is a beautiful friend of mine but also because every single detail had heart behind it. But of course it was going to, we’re talking about an amazing couple. Our gorgeous bride spent the morning with her mum and sisters by her side, then everyone pitched in to pack the cars and away we went to John’s family’s farm where the ceremony would be held. They were married by Laura’s cousin, under a fig which was planted the day after John’s parents were married. I KNOW. The entire day was filled with the strongest and most beautiful of family connections.
The bluebird Laura wore was gifted to her by her new mother in law, who wore the same brooch on her wedding day. Before the ceremony, Laura’s sisters served drinks and biscuits of their childhood to guests. During the ceremony, the girls got to sit on swings (!) cleverly and patiently hung by John. See? So special! The heartfelt ceremony was followed by a kick arse reception, where John delivered the most genuinely adorable speech I’ve ever heard. Ever. Not a dry eye in the house. Then of course, there were killer tunes and much dancing. I feel so lucky I got to be a part of all that. Thank you, you beautiful people xx
