When I first met Rob and Kate, it became apparent pretty much right away that they were going to do things their own way and it was going to be awesome.
‘A friend is marrying us, he’s going to wear naval whites’.
‘I’m going to saber a bottle of champagne’
(That’s chopping off the top, with a big knife. But I learned that you use the blunt side and it’s the force that breaks the neck away from the bottle. See? I learn stuff.)
‘We’re heading to the reception in a rubber ducky.’
New traditions aside, their wedding was filled with laughs and love, just like any other. Rob and Kate’s connection with the Sunshine Coast and the ocean was very clear. From a salty, damp groom to the bride’s sandy Jimmy Choos. Even the guests got in on the action, getting transported in style on the Noosa Ferry to Ricky’s for the reception. Thanks for having me along to photograph it all for you guys, it’s one I won’t forget for a long time.
